About The Truitt Institute
The Truitt Institute was born from a bold vision: to bridge the gap between neuroscience and real-world healing by making brain-based tools practical, accessible, and deeply human. Founded by Dr. Kate Truitt, the Institute is the educational and research home of the NeuroTriad Model and Brain Partnership, advancing trauma-informed, neurobiologically based, and resilience-focused pathways for clinicians, leaders, communities, and individuals. What began more than two decades ago as a commitment to helping people “live their excellence” has grown into a global applied neuroscience ecosystem for healing, empowerment, and sustainable change. Today, the Truitt Institute remains grounded in one central belief: the brain is built to adapt, and when people understand how to partner with their neurobiology, new possibilities for regulation, resilience, and transformation can emerge.
At the Truitt Institute, we know that mental health is not just an individual consideration, but one that is deeply intertwined with our larger social and cultural context.
Grounded in neuroscience and the principles of adaptive leadership, our approach focuses on fostering innovation through diverse perspectives, empowering individuals to reach their full potential, and ensuring that all members of our community experience a sense of belonging.
Our commitment to fostering a thriving, psychologically safe learning and work environment is driven by the science of neuroplasticity, human development, and performance optimization. By embracing a neurobiologically-informed culture of respect, inclusion, and personal agency, we empower individuals to contribute meaningfully to our shared mission.
At the Truitt Institute, we focus on what science tells us works:
- Psychological safety as a catalyst for innovation and resilience
- Cognitive diversity as an essential factor in problem-solving and leadership effectiveness
- Empowerment-based learning models that optimize individual and collective potential
- Research-backed strategies to support high-performing teams and sustainable human growth
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to personal and professional excellence. We remain steadfast in our mission to cultivate an inclusive, science-driven, and forward-focused learning environment. Learn more about our Mission here.
At the Truitt Institute, we believe in the power of the brain to heal itself. As a team of mental health professionals, we have witnessed the extraordinary power of psychotherapy and coaching to help people change their lives, families, and relationships. However, we know financial constraints, clinician availability, and stigma around mental health are barriers to healing for so many.
Our mission is to radically rethink mental health and mental health treatment, using neuroscience to equip everyone with tangible, practical tools to take their mental health and wellness into their own hands. Each of our trainings is neuroscience-based, trauma-informed, and resilience-focused (for more information about why these pillars are the foundation of our work, please read about the NeuroTriad Model here).
- We believe that mental health is a human right, and we are committed to making sure everyone has access to the resources they need to maintain their mental health.
- We believe that trauma-informed practices should be at the core of everything we do, because we know that trauma can affect anyone at any time.
- We that the brain thrives in environments of psychological safety, trust, and collaboration. As a research-driven institution dedicated to the science of resilience and human potential, we prioritize creating spaces where individuals can learn, heal, and contribute their best selves.
- We believe that personal empowerment is key to success in life, so we’ll do everything we can to help you grow as a person and achieve your goals.
Our goal? To eliminate stigma and to build personal and collective empowerment through education about the brain and the application of easy-to-use tools that get at the core of the amazing, quirky, and altogether beautiful group of 86 billion neurons (give or take a few) that guides us through the world. We are glad you are here and welcome you to join us on this journey.
Our goal is to make mental health treatment accessible, affordable, and stigma-free, so that everyone can benefit from the power of the brain to heal itself. We believe that by providing people with the tools to take their mental health into their own hands, we can empower them to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. We do this by focusing on three primary tracks:
- Our professional training courses equip healing professionals with a deep understanding of the neuroscience of trauma and resilience, and how to provide safe and effective treatment for those suffering from PTSD, Developmental Trauma, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Anxiety Disorders, suicidal considerations, and other disorders. Hands-on, practical, and immediately useable, these courses are created by healing professionals, for healing professionals to empower you in your incredible work of helping others in their journey.

Our NeuroTriad Model trainings are designed for mental health professionals who want to bring applied neuroscience into clinical practice with clarity, structure, and care. Grounded in trauma-informed care, neurobiologically based practice, resilience-focused solutions, and Brain Partnership, these clinical learning pathways support practitioners in understanding stress, trauma, dysregulation, adaptive states, and sustainable change through a practical, integrative framework. Through live trainings, modular learning, consultation, clinical resources, and research-informed education, clinicians gain tools to support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, resilience-building, and ethical application across diverse therapeutic settings.
Visit the official NeuroTriad Model website to learn more about the model, clinical trainings, research, and professional learning pathways.
