Join a NeuroTriad Model Training and Certification Program Today!

Welcome to the NeuroTriad Model

The NeuroTriad Model, developed by Dr. Kate Truitt, is a neuroscience-integrated, trauma-informed training program designed to fundamentally rewire how clinicians understand and treat stress, trauma, and dysregulation. This model offers a practical, evidence-informed approach to resolving trauma at the level where it truly resides: within the nervous system and the structures of the brain.

Through protocol-based, brain-aligned interventions grounded in working memory, memory reconsolidation, and neuroplasticity, clinicians gain effective tools to help clients move from dysregulation to empowerment. The Truitt Institute’s Professional Training & Certification program is specifically designed for clinicians and healing professionals—including psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, coaches, and healthcare professionals—who want to integrate the latest neuroscience and trauma-informed techniques into their practice.

This training program goes beyond traditional talk therapy, equipping you with a cutting-edge toolkit to accelerate client healing and enhance clinical outcomes. You’ll learn how to work directly with the brain and body to catalyze lasting change. Upon successful completion, you can choose to earn Certification in the NeuroTriad Model, becoming a recognized expert in brain-based, trauma-informed care and join the Truitt Institute Brain Trust.

The Official NeuroTriad Model Training – Only Available Through the Truitt Institute

We offer the professional training in various formats to accommodate busy clinicians and honor a variety of learning styles:

  • Live Online Training: Join our interactive live online classes from anywhere in the world. These are typically spread over several weeks (e.g., 8 weeks of evening classes, or 4 intensive weekends) and include live lectures, breakout practice, and Q&A.
  • In-Person Intensives: For those who prefer face-to-face and immersive learning, we host periodic in-person intensive trainings (usually 5-day intensives) in different cities. These allow for rich hands-on practice and networking with colleagues.
  • Hybrid: Some cohorts combine online self-paced learning (prerecorded lectures you can watch on your own schedule) with scheduled live practice sessions via video conference.
  • Modular Courses: If you’re not ready for the full certification, you can take modular courses (e.g., a 2-day course on Neurobiology & TIPs, a 2-day on NEPs, etc.) and later apply those toward certification. This gives flexibility to learn at your pace.

Who Should Attend

This training is ideal for licensed mental health professionals and healers including: psychologists, therapists (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, etc.), psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, addiction counselors, and trauma specialists. It’s also open to graduate students/interns in these fields (with appropriate supervision), and allied professionals like coaches, bodyworkers, or educators who have a strong background in mental health and want advanced training. If you’ve been drawn to modalities such as EMDR, somatic experiencing, Deep Brain Reorienting, or Brain Spotting, you will find this program complementary and enhancing – it ties together various threads into one coherent framework. Our alumni range from private practice clinicians to agency therapists to medical professionals incorporating mind-body approaches.

Elevate Your Practice with Neuroscience: NeuroTriad Model Certification

The NeuroTriad Certification is a specialized credential for professionals who want to demonstrate mastery in the Truitt Institute’s NeuroTriad Model and its applications. Earning this certification signifies that you have undergone rigorous training, proven your skills, and committed to the highest standards of neuroscience-informed, trauma-informed, resilience-focused care. Whether you are a therapist, coach, or healthcare provider, the NeuroTriad Certification amplifies your credibility and opens doors to new opportunities – from joining referral networks to teaching and leadership roles in the field of integrative trauma treatment.

Why Pursue NeuroTriad Certification?

  • Stand Out Professionally: In a crowded mental health and coaching field, this certification sets you apart as an expert in cutting-edge, brain-based techniques. Clients and employers increasingly seek practitioners who understand neuroscience and can deliver results with modern methods.
  • Deepen Your Expertise: The certification journey isn’t just a badge – it’s an intensive learning experience that will deepen your clinical or coaching expertise. You’ll refine advanced skills like the Neuro-Empowerment Protocols (NEPs) and gain confidence in handling complex trauma cases, panic disorders, chronic stress, and more, using our proven approaches.
  • Join a Collaborative Network: Certified practitioners become part of the Truitt Institute Brain Trust – a collegial network of NeuroTriad professionals worldwide. This community offers ongoing learning (monthly webinars, case consultation calls), support, and potential referral sharing. As a certified member, you won’t feel alone in your practice; you’ll have peers and mentors to turn to when you need advice or inspiration.
  • Access to Resources: We keep our certified providers up-to-date with the latest developments. You’ll receive exclusive access to new research summaries, updated protocol scripts, client handouts, and other tools to continually enhance your practice. We also provide marketing support – such as a Certified NeuroTriad Provider badge for your website and a listing on our official directory, which can drive client referrals to you.
  • Pathway to Becoming a Training Facilitator: For those interested in teaching, NeuroTriad Certification is the first step toward becoming an Approved NeuroTriad Facilitator. We often select outstanding certified practitioners to assist in trainings, co-facilitate webinars, or even represent the Truitt Institute in global speaking events. If your vision is to also educate others, this certification is a must-have milestone.

Certification – NeuroTriad Model Certification Process

Certification in the NeuroTriad Model reflects a high standard of clinical competence, ethical integrity, and neuroscience-informed care. The following steps ensure you are fully prepared to integrate the model into your practice with clarity and confidence.

  • Completing Training Hours: Attend all modules of the training (which may be delivered as an intensive week or multiple weekends, plus online coursework).
  • Attend Truitt Institute Led Consultation Groups: Join live, interactive consultation groups facilitated by senior Truitt Institute faculty. These sessions provide an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the NeuroTriad Model, refine protocol application through real case examples, and receive direct support and guidance as you integrate the work into your clinical practice.
  • Complete Written Case Studies: Conduct a certain number of practice sessions using NeuroTriad techniques, with either live or video supervision. Our faculty provides mentorship and feedback as you apply the protocols with real or role-played clients.
  • Knowledge Assessment: Pass an online exam covering key concepts, demonstrating you understand the theory and steps of each protocol.
  • Demonstration of Skills: Submit recorded sessions where you demonstrate use of NeuroTriad Model interventions and protocols. This is reviewed to ensure competent and ethical application.
  • Ongoing Education: Agree to our ethical standards and commit to periodic continuing education. (We require certified practitioners to complete refresher webinars or advanced modules annually to stay current, which also often count for CE credits.)

Once certified, you receive an official certificate and digital badge, are listed in our Certified Practitioner Directory (if you wish), and can publicly advertise yourself as NeuroTriad Model Certified. You will also gain access to our peer consultation groups, participate in our ongoing research initiatives, and access to resources as the field evolves.

Continuing Education (CE) Credits

Our professional training program is approved for continuing education credits for multiple disciplines. We partner with accredited CE providers so that psychologists, counselors, marriage & family therapists, social workers, and other professionals can earn credits by completing this training. (See our Continuing Education page for details on credit hours and approved organizations.) For example, the full certification training might offer 40 CE hours approved by APA or NBCC. We handle all the documentation and will provide you with a CE certificate upon completion at no additional cost. Our commitment is not only to enrich your practice but also to support your professional development requirements.
