Goals of the Havening Techniques Training

This experiential training will familiarize participants with a broad spectrum of Havening Techniques interventions designed to ensure comfortable and efficient use with a wide range of diagnostic considerations and clinical applications. Special attention will be given to the therapeutic needs of clients. In this hands-on training, you will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of Havening Techniques
  • Explore the newest insights into the neuroscience of trauma
  • Identify critical areas for fast and effective intervention utilizing the Havening Techniques
  • Learn how to build resiliency for your client’s brain health
  • Develop techniques for empowered resource development and sustainable health
  • Engage in supervised small group practice of the techniques
  • Learn self-havening techniques for personal healing and protection against vicarious traumatization

The Havening Techniques protocols require supervised live training to ensure both effectiveness and client safety. The comprehensive Truitt Institute training combines lectures, live and videotaped demonstrations, experiential practice, and practice groups. Attendance at the live 16 hour training is required to ensure an exceptional learning experience for all participants.

The Havening Techniques® Practitioner Certification Program

The Truitt Institute prides itself on providing highly individualized training and certification programs. The Havening Techniques training is the first step of the process to becoming a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner. If you wish to become a Certified Practitioner and be listed on the Havening.org website as well as be able to market Havening as a tool you use in your practice, you will also need to complete the certification program:

Stage 1: Completion of the Truitt Institute Havening Techniques Training followed by the Practitioner Certification Program

Stage 2: Certified Practitioner Assessment Process under the guidance of the The Truitt Institute Training Team

  • 30 written case studies
  • 2 taped video case studies
  • Attendance at five monthly 90 minute Havening Techniques Certified Practitioner Group Case Consultation Meetings
  • Science Examination

Stage 3: Online Legal and Ethics course and/or Proof of State Licensure

Stage 4: Initial cost and Annual renewal of certified status with the Havening Techniques Head Quarters
